The game handles the trade-off between building close to other players with the risks that come with it (blocking) really well. It's perfectly fine. It's perfectly fine in 2 player and the large board doesn't make a huge difference since you want to be next to each other competing for prime spots anyway. Chaos Magicians are tricky, but can be a lot of fun. Non-live games can take anywhere from 1 week to 2 months, but I can also have 10-15 games running. There's a bit of a push and pull on which tiles get picked because you want to be next to your neighbour for some things but you're also trying to cut them off from where they want to go.
